Skilled Migrant Category - Expression of Interest Selection – 6th October 2010

The following EOIs were selected from the pool for validation on 6th October 2010:

366 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 140 or above:
313 with job offer
53 without job offer

94 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140, and included points for offers of skilled employment or current skilled employment in New Zealand.

47EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140, without a job offer, but with 15 points claimed for work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage.

66 EOIs were slected that had a points total of 115 or more but less than 140, and included 10 bonus points for work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage.

(A total of 559 EOIs were therefore selected)

Conclusion: Leaving aside the EOIs in areas of Absolute Skills Shortage, only 12% of applicants managed to achieve the selection point without a job offer. Thus, 88% of ordinary applicants needed a job offer to qualify. Clearly, getting a job is of paramount importance to your application, which is where our Jobsearch Programme is best placed to help.
