Skilled Migrant Category - Expression of Interest Selection – 4th May 2011
The following EOIs were selected from the pool for validation on 4th May 2011:
336 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 140 or above:
280 with job offer
56 without job offer
76 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140, and included points for offers of skilled employment or current skilled jobs in New Zealand.
62 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140, and included 15 bonus points for work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage.
53 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140, and included 10 bonus points for work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage.
25 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 115 or more but less than 140, and included 10 points claimed for qualification in an area of absolute skill shortage
(A total of 552 EOIs were therefore selected)
Conclusion: Leaving aside the EOIs in areas of Absolute Skills Shortage, only 14% of applicants managed to achieve the selection point without a job offer. Thus, 86% of ordinary applicants needed a job offer to qualify. Clearly, getting a job is of paramount importance to your application, which is where our Jobsearch Programme is best placed to help
