Skilled Migrant Category - Expression of Interest Selection – 22nd September 2010
The following EOIs were selected from the pool for validation on 22nd September 2010:
345 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 140 or above:
309 with job offer
36 without job offer
78 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140, and included points for offers of skilled employment or current skilled employment in New Zealand.
61EOIs were selected that had a points total of 120 or more but less than 140, without a job offer, but with 15 points claimed for work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage.
(A total of 559 EOIs were therefore selected)
Conclusion: Leaving aside the EOIs in areas of Absolute Skills Shortage, only 9% of applicants managed to achieve the selection point without a job offer. Thus, 91% of ordinary applicants needed a job offer to qualify. Clearly, getting a job is of paramount importance to your application, which is where our Jobsearch Programme is best placed to help.
