New Zealand Skilled Migrant Category Expression of Interest Selection – 7th September 2011
The following EOIs were selected from the pool for validation on 7th September 2011:
396 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 140 or above:
332 with job offer
64 without job offer
91 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140, and included points for offers of skilled employment or current skilled jobs in New Zealand.
29 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 130 or more but less than 140, and included 15 points claimed for work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage
A total of 516 EOIs representing 1,114 people were therefore selected)
Conclusion: Leaving aside the EOIs in areas of Absolute Skills Shortage, only 14% of applicants managed to achieve the selection point without a job offer. Thus, 86% of ordinary applicants needed a job offer to qualify. Clearly, getting a job is of paramount importance to your application, which is where our Jobsearch Programme is best placed to help
