New Zealand employers are struggling to find staff
Although New Zealand offers balmy weather, great lifestyle opportunities and a large number of jobs – you might find it hard to believe that local employers are struggling to fill growing vacancies and it’s starting to become a serious issue for New Zealand employers.
It’s been reported that around half of the country’s employers are actively struggling to find staff with the right skills, with engineers, sales representatives and IT staff among the most in-demand occupations.
A survey which was undertaken by Manpower Group NZ of 650 employers found that around 51% of the employers surveyed were struggling to find staff to fill their roles, an increase from 48% the previous year.
New Zealand currently operates a Skilled Migration Program which allows overseas skilled workers to apply to work and live in New Zealand if they have skills and qualifications that are currently in demand within the country.
