Immediate Skills Shortage List Changes

July 18, 2011

The New Zealand Department of Labour have recently reviewed the Essential Skills in Demand List and have introduced changes to the Immediate Skills Shortage List to take effect from the 11 July 2011.

The changes have seen the introduction of nine new occupations and the removal of one occupation as well as changes to many of the regions where there are nominated skills shortages.

The added occupations that have been added include:

  • Baker
  • Poultry/Pig Farmer
  • Metal Machinist
  • Motorcycle Mechanic
  • Baker
  • Clinical Coder
  • Metal Casting/Electronic Equipment Trades Worker

These areas have been identified as occupations with an immediate skilled shortage either throughout New Zealand or within specific regions.

If you have recognised skills in one of these areas then you may now be eligible to apply to work or migrate to New Zealand. To discuss your eligibility and find out more information about making the move, contact The Emigration Group today on 01244 321414 (North) or 0207 118 2526 (South) and our team will advise you accordingly.
