Australia Announces 37,500 More Visa Places!

The Minister of Immigration announced last week that he will increase the total number of Visa Places by 37,500 in the current 2008/09 migration programme commencing from July 2008. This now gives a total annual target migration figure of 190,300, broken down as follows: Skilled Migrant Visas: 133,500 (currently 102,000) Family Stream Visas: 56,500 (currently 50,000), which includes a boost of 4,000 places to the Parent visa category – 3000 to the Contributory Parent visa and 1000 to the Old Style.
