Skilled Migrant Category - Expression of Interest Selection - 8th September 2010

September 9, 2010

The following EOIs were selected from the pool for validation on 8th September 2010:

389 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 140 or above:
324 with job offer
65 without job offer

116 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140, and included points for offers of skilled employment or current skilled employment in New Zealand.

50 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 120 or more but less than 140, without a job offer, but with 15 points claimed for work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage.

(A total of 563 EOIs were therefore selected)

Conclusion: Leaving aside the EOIs in areas of Absolute Skills Shortage, only 7% of applicants managed to achieve the selection point without a job offer. Thus, 87% of ordinary applicants needed a job offer to qualify. Clearly, getting a job is of paramount importance to your application, which is where our Jobsearch Programme is best placed to help.
