State Migration Occupation Lists
It’s finally happening – the State Migration Plans are now being published and include a list of occupations that each state government is prepared to sponsor – these occupations are shown under the State Skilled Migration Occupation List and are available to applicants who meet the strict guidelines and criteria for state sponsorship.
So far the following states have published their plans:
• Victoria
• ACT
• Northern Territories
• Western Australia
• Queensland
• South Australia
• Tasmania
We are still awaiting plans from:
• New South Wales
The sponsorship requirements vary for each state and also for each occupation/group. State sponsorship is essential for many people and with the change to the points test planned for July 2011 will be ever more important.
