Skilled Migrant Category - Expression of Interest Selection on 10th February 2010
The following EOIs were selected from the pool for validation on 10 February 2010: 357 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 140 or above:
309 with job offer
48 without job offer
98 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140, and included points for offers of skilled employment or current skilled employment in New Zealand. 102 EOIs were selected that had a points total between 115 and 135, without a job offer, but with 15 points claimed for work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage. (A total of 557 EOIs were therefore selected) Conclusion: Leaving aside the EOIs in areas of Absolute Skills Shortage, only 11% of applicants managed to achieve the selection point without a job offer. Thus, 89% of ordinary applicants needed a job offer to qualify. Clearly, getting a job is of paramount importance to your application, which is where our Jobsearch Programme is best placed to help. The next selection will take place on Wednesday 24th February 2010.
