Skilled Migrant Category - Expression of Interest Selection – 1st June 2011
The following EOIs were selected from the pool for validation on 1st June 2011:
401 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 140 or above:
349 with job offer
52 without job offer
106 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 135, and included points for offers of skilled employment or current skilled jobs in New Zealand.
50 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 120 or more but less than 140, and included 15 bonus points for work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage.
(A total of 557 EOIs were therefore selected)
Conclusion: Leaving aside the EOIs in areas of Absolute Skills Shortage, only 10% of applicants managed to achieve the selection point without a job offer. Thus, 90% of ordinary applicants needed a job offer to qualify. Clearly, getting a job is of paramount importance to your application, which is where our Jobsearch Programme is best placed to help
