Australia tops “Happiest Developed Nation” rankings again

May 28, 2013

The overall strength of the economy, high life expectancy and good employment rate have all played a major role in Australia topping the most recent list of “Happiest Developed Nations”.

The list was compiled by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and other countries that featured in the top five included Sweden, Canada, Norway and Switzerland.

According to the OECD website “Australia performs exceptionally well in measures of wellbeing, as shown by the fact that it ranks among the top countries in a large number of topics in the Better Life Index.”

After two decades of growth, the Australian economy is performing well, largely thanks to the country’s substantial supply of natural resources.

This strength has been boosted in recent years by the country’s ability to avoid the global recession, which has seen local currency trading close to a 30-year high.

If you are looking to escape the often bleak financial outlook in the UK, and move to somewhere with a stable economy and great lifestyle opportunities then why not give Australia a go?
